Heritage Angler 10ft- what to practice to it.

I bought a heritage 10ft angler about 8-9 months ago and now I'm trying to decide what to add to it. I like information technology because it is small-scale enough for me to booty and put in the bed of my truck. First thing on my add list is an ballast trolly, and a stakeout stick. I hate dropping ballast everytime I want to stop so sick be making my own stakeout stick soon. As of at present i accept 3 rodholders, 2 affluent mounted and one scotty. Any other suggestions for fishing the trophy? I might actually put a trolling motor on this thing too.

I understand you guys get a lot of people on here just asking for info and these "aid" posts can probably become old merely I would actually like some advice. I appreciate whatever and all feedback as well as your fourth dimension. Cheers very much in accelerate.

A milk crate to put your tackle. For the stakeout stick you tin use a tick fishing pole and get rid of the eyes. That is what I have and works great. Too, you can get a retractable walking stick from Walmart. I think prices range from 10 to xx. The only problem is if yous want to pole your way effectually the marsh its not and so skilful.

Good luck.

I besides have the 10' heritage and love it. I added a DIY anchor trolley haven't had the opportunity to endeavour it out only looks similar information technology'll piece of work great. For a stakeout pole I use a wooden dowel rod from home depot and it has worked well for me.
The milk crate helps also.

I had a full length anchor trolly on my yac and idea nigh it getting hung up or coming lose from the bow so I moved the forward connection dorsum to where I could reach it if I needed to. Couldn't see why I would want to face the anchor while line-fishing seeing as I needed it out back of me.
I found an former aluminum tent pole I use for a stake out pole, light weight and easy to employ.
I've got an old trolling motor someone gave me years agone and thought near mounting it behind me just I'd accept to cut down the conrtol shaft to make it fit while mounting information technology on the forepart of the milk carton via a 1x4. Also, if you put a trolling motor on a yac exercise you have to regester it like a regular gunkhole??
I don't actually want to put much more into this kayak seeing every bit I'll want to sell it sometime in the near future but for at present? I'l make exercise.

Retrieve near what YOU want on it and effigy out how you want it mounted. Will you need information technology quick? will it be something you'll need if you take a pause ?will it make it the style of your fishing?
Merely my 2 cents worth.

If there's a convienient shop y'all go to regularly (where they know your face/name) only ask them for one. A lot of places have them stacked upwardly in back and don't mind getting rid of one if they know you lot're always in the shop.

They'll usually accept several in stock, milk crates aren't every bit pop as other items in their store.

I just got the same Angler 10 from Academy Sports. While nosotros were in the store I picked up a camo stadium seat with a nice cushion and sturdy, metal frame and it fits in like a glove. Puts your barrel about 2" off the original seat, simply it's way more than comfortable and still floats and balances well. All I need to do now is add some pipe insulation to proceed the lesser of the seat from rubbing thru the plastic.

I fished in information technology final Saturday for 5 hours without getting out and was fine.

That chair fits?! I thought about doing that, only I e'er figured the seat surface area is too small for a stadium seat.

Information technology fits similar information technology was made for it. Only you do need some extra padding to go along the back corners from rubbing thru the seat portion of the kayak. I'm going to get some piping insulation for this weekend and see how that works.

And for some DIY rigging, check out palmettokayakfishing.blogspot.com. I particularly like his dwelling-made rod leashes, and he has a nice how-to on edifice a quick attach ballast organization.

Those are "Scupper" holes. You do not have to plug them simply some folks adopt to for a more dry ride. Mine did not come with them. I take the same Yak as you. Goodluck out at that place! That heritage hasn't given me any problems yet! Doesn't track to well in the wind but that is expected with a short yak from what I have been told. It is pretty stable though.

There arent any holes in the seat, so I rarely get wet from the scupper holes. Just from h2o comin off the paddle.

Keep in mind the scupper holes allow the water drain out. My brother plugged his last fourth dimension we went out and was dry upwardly until a wave splashed over him. The the water wouldnt drain, so he spent the rest of the rip with soggy shorts.

I found a "half-sized" milk crate at my work, put two short pvc rod holders on each side. I attached the rod holders with just one bottom bolt then i would be able to rotate the poles up or downwards, in instance I go through over-hanging castor on the river. I do NOT do much trolling, and keep them on leashes, then i am not worried about the security of the poles. I might however install longer holders and extra bolts, only then far its working neat. i tin still utilise my regular gear numberless and have room for a cooler. Best of all, everything is nevertheless hands attainable(a problem i ran into with the larger crate was that it was difficult to reach effectually it to the stern).

I like my heritage angler ten. Information technology's a good buddy yak for when I get something else. I only put a hummingbird 153 on information technology concluding weekend and haven't actually tried it much. The stadium seat thought works great btw. Information technology really helps. Lots of corking info here.
